Just like the concrete foundation is that which a house relies upon for stability, so are our feet to us: the foundation upon which our bodies rely. Irregularities in foot mechanics and gait can lead to knee, hip and back pain due to rotational forces transmitted into the pelvis and resulting in compensation particularly in the lumbar spine and then progressing upwards.

While chiropractic adjustments can provide relief, this is only short-term and the root cause must be addressed. If left untreated, long-term compensation leads to structural changes in adjacent soft tissues (muscles and ligaments) and will eventually lead to joint degeneration.

Dr. Strudwick can assess your gait and examine mobility in your feet to determine the type of orthotic for you. From a foam impression of your feet, certified pedorthist Alex Paquin of http://peakorthoticsportal.com/ makes a laser-scanned 3-D image of each foot that the orthotics are then milled from. We work with Peak Orthotics because of the unique qualities of the orthotic that have a rehabilitative function and help to strengthen the feet as they support them.
